To support operations on the BorWin5 and DolWin5 Offshore Grid Connection Projects, we are currently searching for
Welding and Coating Inspectors (m/f/d)
starting in May 2025 in 14/14 rotations.
- BorWin5: until February 2026
- DolWin5: until June 2026 (with an initial month in Norway)
Your Responsibilities
- Perform visual (VT) and document-based inspection of welds across piping, structural, and auxiliary systems.
- Inspect and monitor corrosion protection systems including paint coatings, duplex systems, and passive measures.
- Supervise contractor execution performance and validate personnel certifications.
- Review technical documentation including WPS, PQRs, ITPs, coating records, and NDT results.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards (ISO, NORSOK, DNV, etc.).
- Support punch list handling, accept repair works, and contribute to system handovers with complete documentation.
- Interface with QA/QC, commissioning, and engineering teams, as well as third-party inspectors (e.g., DNV, TÜV).
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and assist in the compilation of handover packages for final project delivery.
Your Profile
- Degree or technical qualification in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Corrosion Protection, or related field.
- Certified Welding Inspector or Technician (e.g., IWS/IWT in accordance with ISO standards).
- Additional certification in coating inspection or corrosion protection (e.g., NACE or FROSIO Level II/III).
- In-depth knowledge of NDT techniques and relevant international norms and specifications.
- Previous experience in offshore construction or complex infrastructure projects, ideally within HVDC environments.
- Valid offshore certifications (GWO / BOSIET, HUET, offshore medical).
- Methodical, quality-focused approach with strong communication and team coordination skills.
- Proficient in English (spoken and written); German language skills are an advantage.
- Confident in producing precise reports and documentation on time and in line with client and project expectations.
