Summary
We are currently seeking a
freelance Marine Coordinator / Nautical Officer (m/f/d)
to support the construction of the Offshore Wind Farm He Dreiht. The role is based onshore in Hamburg, supporting offshore operations as part of the Marine Coordination Center.
Your Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and coordination of project-related vessel traffic to ensure smooth offshore operations
- Continuous assessment of whether chartered vessels meet the requirements for offshore activities
- Coordination of project-specific TETRA digital radio communications to ensure effective communication across stakeholders
- Preparation, review, and approval of Work Permits, ensuring all safety procedures are observed
- Moderation and documentation of daily coordination calls with vessel captains and representatives
- Creation and management of the weekly vessel forecast, considering current project demands
- Tracking and detailed documentation of offshore construction progress
- Accurate logging of personnel movements at the offshore worksite
- Contribution to 24/7 shift coverage, working in a 14/7 rotation schedule
Your Profile:
- Successfully completed maritime training or academic degree (license not required) – at least Master 500GT or experience as a Navigational Watch Officer
- Valid radio certificates (ROC/GOC or LRC), or willingness to renew them
- Experience in the offshore wind sector and/or marine coordination is desirable
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel and Word); ideally also familiar with ECDIS hardware
- Fluent in German and English (minimum B2 level)
- Willingness to work in a rotational shift system
- Strong analytical skills, ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Key Information:
The freelance engagement is expected to start as soon as possible and run until the end of 2025. The workload amounts to approximately 100 working days, distributed throughout the year. The role is organized in a rotational shift system (morning/day/night) and will be performed onshore from Hamburg , supporting the coordination of offshore activities.
