Job Description

We are looking for a freelance

WTG Commissioning Manager (m/f/d)

to support the Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm project. In this role, you will oversee the mechanical and electrical commissioning of WTGs, coordinate Supervisors (m/f/d) at the Port & Harbour (Łeba, Poland) and offshore, and ensure a smooth handover from the WTG contractor to Operations & Maintenance (O&M).

Your tasks:

  • Manage and oversee WTG commissioning activities both onshore (Łeba, Poland) and offshore.
  • Ensure as-built documentation is correctly submitted and aligned with project standards.
  • Coordinate the handover process, ensuring documentation and requirements are met.
  • Delegate tasks to BLP Supervisors (m/f/d) for installation and testing of mechanical & electrical systems.
  • Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and supplier procedures with the Quality team.
  • Monitor and report project progress daily & weekly to the BLP Commissioning Manager (m/f/d) & WTG Technical Lead (m/f/d).
  • Identify and mitigate risks in commissioning and handover stages.
  • Ensure all safety and compliance regulations are met.
  • Participate in site commissioning meetings and coordinate with third-party suppliers.
  • Manage NCRs and punch list activities for smooth project closure.
  • Plan and execute integration testing for WTG and offshore substations.

Your profile:

  • Freelancer (m/f/d) / Contractor (m/f/d) with availability for onshore & offshore deployment.
  • Engineering degree (M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in WTG commissioning, power systems, or offshore wind.
  • Experience in handover management, documentation control, and quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with offshore safety standards and certifications (e.g., GWO, BOSIET).
  • Travel requirements:
    • Remote work with site presence as needed.
    • Port & Harbour (Łeba, Poland) & Offshore deployment based on project demands.
    • Warsaw office visits (max. 2x per month).
    • Occasional travel within Europe as required by BLP.

This role will be mostly remote but requires site presence as needed at PAH (Łeba, Poland) and offshore locations. Additionally, travel to Warsaw (up to 2x per month) and occasional travel within Europe may be required based on project demands. The position is available immediately and runs until December 2026.
