We are looking for a freelance
Cable Offshore Installation Manager (m/f/d)
to support the Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm project. This role involves managing offshore cable installation activities, ensuring compliance with HSSE, quality, and project execution plans, and overseeing contractor operations during transport and installation (T&I). The successful candidate will be responsible for daily site management, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring project milestones are met efficiently.
Your tasks:
- Oversee and coordinate offshore cable installation (inter-array and export cables)
- Ensure good HSSE practices in all installation activities
- Act as the primary contact for daily alignment with Construction/Installation Managers
- Manage T&I Construction facility operations and Client Representatives onsite
- Ensure compliance with statutory, corporate, and project-specific policies, rules & regulations
- Keep project procedures and manuals updated throughout the execution phase
- Plan and manage offshore logistics, marine coordination, and technician operations
- Implement work authorization, custody, and handover procedures
- Oversee asset management from package handover to final delivery to O&M
- Conduct daily site inspections, monitor quality, and report progress
- Manage and ensure close-out of non-conformities (NCRs) and punch lists
- Provide lessons learned and improvement proposals to optimize future projects
Your profile:
- Freelance / Contractor available for remote and offshore deployment
- 3-5 years of experience in construction management (preferably offshore wind projects)
- 2-3 years of leadership experience in offshore installation or T&I
- Strong understanding of offshore cable installation & marine coordination
- Familiarity with offshore safety standards (GWO, BOSIET preferred)
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage site teams, enforce quality assurance, and drive compliance
- Travel requirements:
- Remote + Warsaw + Gdynia/Gdańsk
- Possible onsite presence in Gdynia/Gdańsk from July 2025 (5 days per week)
- Bi-weekly travel expected
This role requires site presence as needed in Warsaw, Gdynia/Gdańsk, and offshore locations. From July 2025, onsite work in Gdynia/Gdańsk (5 days a week) may be required. Additionally, bi-weekly travel and occasional travel within Europe may be necessary based on project demands. The position is available immediately and runs until August 2026.
